What is the WOLFBOX NomadPixel 5?

The NomadPixel 5 is a 5-inch round LED off-road light featuring 6× CREE XPG4-HI LEDs for main illumination, plus an 84-pixel matrix display for custom text, graphics, and animations — all controlled via the WOLFBOX App over Bluetooth.

What's the difference between pixel mode and regular lighting mode?

Regular lighting mode uses the 6 CREE XPG4-HI LEDs to produce a bright driving beam for trail illumination. Pixel mode uses the 84-pixel LED matrix to display text, graphics, or animations — it's for show and personalization, not for lighting the trail. You can use both at the same time.

Are these lights IP69K waterproof? What does that mean?

Yes! The NomadPixel 5 carries an IP69K rating — one of the highest ingress protection ratings available. It means the lights are fully dust-tight and can withstand high-pressure, high-temperature water jets, such as those from a pressure washer. They're also tested for 136 hours of salt spray.

Can I use these on a 24V truck?

No. The NomadPixel 5 operates on 12–16V DC only. Connecting it to a 24V system will damage the lights and void the warranty. Do not use it on heavy-duty trucks with 24V electrical systems.

What is the housing made of?

The housing is made of ADC12 die-cast aluminum with a powder-coated finish. ADC12 is a high-quality aluminum alloy known for excellent heat dissipation, corrosion resistance, and structural strength — ideal for off-road use.

Are these lights street legal? / Can I use them on public roads?

These lights are designed for off-road use only. They are not DOT/SAE certified for on-road use. We include black protective covers for use on public roads. Always check your state and local regulations. ⚠️ Additionally, do not use scrolling or flickering pixel modes while driving — they can distract other drivers.

What vehicles do these fit?

The universal U-bracket design fits any 12V vehicle with a suitable flat mounting surface. Common applications include Jeep Wrangler/Gladiator, Ford F-150/Raptor, Toyota Tacoma/4Runner, Chevy Silverado, Ram trucks, SUVs, ATVs, and UTVs.

If you have a suitable flat mounting surface, they'll work. Not for 24V vehicles.

What are the amber and black lens covers for?

Amber covers: Convert white light to amber, reducing glare and reflection in fog, snow, and heavy rain. Great for off-roading in bad weather.
Black covers: Protect the lens from rock chips and debris when not in use. They can also be used to cover the lights when driving on public roads.

What's the correct order for the mounting washers?

From top to bottom:

Light Bracket → Anti-Vibration Rubber Pad → Mounting Surface → Flat Washer → Spring Washer → Nut

The anti-vibration pad is essential — do not omit it, as it helps prevent loosening caused by off-road vibration.

How do I install these? / What are the installation steps?

Installation takes about 45–60 minutes. The 6-step process is:

Unbox and verify that all parts are included.
Test the lights before mounting by plugging them in to confirm they work.
Drill an 11mm hole at your chosen mounting location.
Mount the bracket using the correct washer order (see Q11).
Wire the harness — pull the fuse first, then connect the 6-pin DT connector, power, ground, and ACC wires.
Adjust the beam angle, reinstall the fuse, and test all functions.

We recommend professional installation if you're not comfortable with automotive wiring.

What's the ACC wire for? Do I need to connect it?

Yes. The ACC trigger wire (800mm, red) must be connected to ignition power (ACC/switched power). Without it, the lights can be turned on even when the engine is off, which can drain your battery.

The ACC wire ensures the lights only work when the ignition is on.

What app do I use? How do I connect?

Download the WOLFBOX App from the App Store or Google Play — it's free. The lights connect via Bluetooth, with no Wi-Fi or account required.

For first-time pairing, turn on the lights, open the app, tap "Add Device," select your light from the list, and follow the prompts.

For dual-light setups, pair Light A and Light B separately using the A/B tabs.
