Can I install them myself, and how long does it take?

Yes — if you're comfortable with basic bolt-on accessories, this is a very manageable DIY job. The motor comes pre-installed on the bracket assembly, so there are no electronics to wire up from scratch. Most owners finish in about 1–2 hours, and we include a free step-by-step video guide.

Can I keep the boards down to stand on them (e.g., washing the truck)?

Yes. Thanks to the anti-pinch sensor, if you step onto the board as the door closes it detects the weight and stays extended for you; just open and close the door to reset. (Tip: step on before it starts lifting — don't push down on a board that's already retracting, to protect the motor.)

Are the LED lights included or sold separately?

They are 100% included! Integrated LED lighting automatically illuminates the step surface when the board extends — dramatically improving visibility and safety for late-night entries.

How do the power running boards work?

It's fully automated. The boards deploy when the door opens and retract when the door closes. We use advanced CAN bus technology to read door signals directly, eliminating the need for unreliable magnetic switches.

Will these fit my truck?

These are vehicle-specific boards, not universal kits — so you get a precise, factory-like fit with no misalignment. Select your Make, Model, and Year above and we'll show the exact set for your truck.

How fast do they deploy and retract?

Deploy: ~2.1–2.3s (full-size) / ~1.6s (mid-size & SUV). After the door closes, there's a 3-second safety delay, then the boards retract in ~1.1–1.5s (full-size) / ~1.6s (mid-size & SUV).

Can these running boards be used in rain and snow?

Absolutely — they're built for it. All components, including the IP67-rated motor and connectors, are weatherproof and sealed tight, so ice, mud, and road salt won't stop them.

Are the steps slip-resistant?

Yes. The 6-inch-wide platform features an aggressive textured surface designed to provide maximum grip, even with wet or muddy boots.

What are the boards made of?

Aircraft-grade throughout: 6063-T5 aluminum step body, ADC-12 aluminum linkage arms, and Q345B high-strength steel brackets — each e-coated and powder-coated for corrosion resistance.

How much weight can these steps really hold?

We built them strong! Each side has a proven load capacity of up to 660 lbs. Load up your gear or stand side-by-side with a buddy — they can take it.

Will these steps reduce my truck's ground clearance?

Nope! When retracted, the boards fit snugly against the vehicle body, so you keep your maximum ground clearance for off-road capability. (By the numbers: 11–14 in of clearance with boards extended, then fully tucked when retracted.)
