No. It is engineered to operate smoothly and reliably, even in extreme conditions. Here's why:

  • IP67 Fully Sealed Motor: The motor is completely sealed against water, mud, and snow, preventing debris buildup and internal freezing that can cause mechanical jams.
  • High-Torque Ice-Breaking Performance: Successfully tested in temperatures as low as -40°C (-40°F). Delivering up to 61.1 N·m of forward torque and 56 N·m in reverse, the motor has the power to break through thick ice, packed snow, and heavy mud without stalling or getting stuck.
  • Superior Reliability: Compared with more complex dual-motor systems, our streamlined single-motor design eliminates the risk of motor synchronization issues and linkage failures. The result is a lower mechanical failure rate and greater long-term reliability in harsh outdoor environments.

How do I keep the power running boards deployed while washing the vehicle?

You can keep the running boards extended by activating the built-in anti-pinch resistance feature:
Open the door to let the running board fully deploy.
Close the door while applying slight downward pressure with your foot on the step.
As it begins to retract, it will detect the resistance and stop, remaining in the deployed position even with the door closed.
Note: To resume normal automatic operation, simply open and close the door again.

How do the power running boards work?

It’s fully automated. The boards deploy when the door opens and retract when the door closes. We use advanced CAN bus technology to read door signals directly, eliminating the need for unreliable magnetic switches.

Can these running boards be used in rain and snow?

Absolutely. They are built for it. All components, including the IP67-rated motor and connectors, are weatherproof and sealed tight. They are tested from -40°F to 176°F to ensure flawless performance.
